On Sunday June 24th in 2001 at 17:40hrs. the house was nearly destroyed in a fire, starting in the attic.
In a parody on leisurely sticking photos in an album or scrapbooking, burnt photographs are added to an empty book. These are the original photographs saved from the attic, three days after the fire, without consent of the insurance company or fire brigade. Storing the letters and photographs they were bundled and wrapped so tightly, that in spite of the unimaginable heat of the flash over, they were scorched on the edges, but otherwise mostly still visibly intact.
